Applicant Overview and Prerequisites*

To apply for the 2020 Patricia R. Dempster Scholarship an applicant must:

  • Be a current UNIFY member who is listed as the Primary Account holder (not as a joint account holder) in good standing.
    • If you are a minor, you must have a UNIFY Minor Primary Savings Account.
    • If you are not a minor, you must have a UNIFY Primary Savings Account.
  • Be a 2020 graduating high school senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Be planning to attend an accredited 4-year college/university beginning Fall 2020.

Complete application including all required documents due by Thursday, March 19, 2020.

To get started, please ensure you have the following:
  • UNIFY Membership Number
    • Applicant must be the primary account holder on a UNIFY account. Please see above prerequisites section for membership requirements.
    • To apply for membership, if you are 18 years or older, visit UnifyFCU.com.
    • If you are under 18 years please email scholarship@unifyfcu.com to apply membership.
  • Essay
    • Please submit a typed essay (500 words or less) on the following topic:

      Describe your most significant challenge or accomplishment, and its value to your life.

      Delivery options:
      • Upload (pdf, doc or docx format)
  • Letters of Recommendation
    • Obtain two letters of recommendation from teachers, spiritual leaders, employers and/or other influential adults in your life. Letters must reference your full name.

      Delivery options:

  • Transcripts
    • You will need your transcripts of grades 9-11 to use as a reference during the online application process
    • You will also need to attach with your application

*UNIFY awards a limited number of scholarships up to $5,000 to graduating high school seniors. Applicant must be a UNIFY Financial Credit Union member in good standing to apply and meet specific qualifying criteria. All applications and supporting documentation will be accepted through Thursday, March 19, 2020. Award recipients responsible for all applicable taxes. UNIFY employees, volunteers and family members are not eligible to apply for scholarship,
