Applicant Overview and Prerequisites*

To apply for the 2018 Patricia R. Dempster Scholarship an applicant must:

  • Be a current UNIFY member who is listed as the Primary Account holder (not as a joint account holder) in good standing.
    • If you are a minor, you must have a UNIFY Minor Primary Savings Account.
    • If you are not a minor, you must have a UNIFY Primary Savings Account.
  • Be a 2018 graduating high school senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Be planning to attend an accredited 4-year college/university beginning Fall 2018.

Before proceeding with the application, please ensure you have the following:
  • UNIFY Membership Number
    • Applicant must be the primary account holder on a UNIFY account. Please see above prerequisites section for membership requirements.

  • Essay
    • Please submit a typed essay (500 words or less) on the following topic:

      Describe your most significant challenge or accomplishment, and its value to your life.

  • Letters of Recommendation
    • Obtain two letters of recommendation from teachers, spiritual leaders, employers and/or other influential adults in your life. Letters must reference your full name.

    • You will need your unofficial transcripts of grades 9-11 to use as a reference during the online application process

*UNIFY awards a limited number of scholarships up to $5,000 to graduating high school seniors. Applicant must be a UNIFY Financial Credit Union member in good standing to apply and meet specific qualifying criteria. All applications and supporting documentation will be accepted through Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Award recipients responsible for all applicable taxes. UNIFY employees, volunteers and family members are not eligible to apply for scholarship,
